Japan to send hundreds of peace-keepers to Sudan: report

Japan plans to send hundreds of military personnel to Sudan next year to join UN peace-keepers overseeing an agreement that ended a 21-year north-south civil war, a report said Monday. 26 wounded in twin bombs in Iraq shrine city

Two bombs within minutes of each other exploded at a restaurant early Wednesday in Iraq's shrine city of Karbala, wounding at least 26 people, police and medical officials said.     An epidemic of flu and respiratory infections has now taken 135 lives in Ukraine, the health ministry said, as the country Saturday received a new portion of medical aid from Europe.
