Iran will not suspend enrichment in return for radioisotopes
Tehran (AFP) Feb 17, 2010
Iran will not suspend its sensitive high level enrichment in return for radioisotopes as offered in a letter by three world powers to the UN atomic watchdog, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday. "It is not at all rational to say that Iran should not produce (isotopes and uranium) and stop its (enrichment) plant and that they will provide its needed medicine," ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told ISNA news agency. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says a rare but serious liver disorder has been reported in some HIV patients taking Videx/Videx EC. The FDA said Videx (didanosine) is an antiretroviral medicine first approved in 1991, while Videx EC is a delayed-release version of Videx.
