Radiation death exposes India's waste disposal failures

The death from radiation poisoning of a scrapyard worker in New Delhi has highlighted the lax enforcement of waste disposal laws in India, leading to calls for urgent action.
In early April, a machine from Delhi University containing cobalt-60, a radioactive metal used for radiotherapy in hospitals, ended up in a scrapyard in the city.

An 83-year-old Indian holy man who says he has spent seven decades without food or water has astounded a team of military doctors who studied him during a two-week observation period.

Tornadoes kill five in US state of Oklahoma

Multiple tornadoes killed at least five people Monday in the central US state of Oklahoma, the Oklahoman daily said on its website.
The Oklahoma Emergency Management Department said there were injuries from the severe storms and tornadoes they spawned statewide, but offered no numbers.
