Radio Signals Research Scans New Horizons

A study at the University of Leicester aims to understand the reasons why radio signals sometimes act unpredictably- travelling beyond the horizon and interfering with other signals. This is important because reliable radio signalling is not only economically beneficial, it is important in terms of safety. Greenpeace activist recovering from fishermen's hook injury

A Greenpeace activist was recovering in hospital in Malta on Saturday after surgery for an injury caused by a grappling hook slung by tuna fishermen in a clash at sea, he told AFP. Two Palestinians were wounded on Thursday in an Israeli air strike east of Gaza City, Palestinian medics and witnesses said. Muawiya Hassanein, the head of Gaza emergency services, said two wounded people were brought to hospital after the strike, which witnesses said came during an exchange of fire after militants launced a mortar round.
