A Memorandum of Understanding on areas to be jointly explored for collaboration has been signed by Terma A/S of Denmark and Turkey's Aselsan defense company.

The MOU also covers the transfer of ownership and intellectual property rights of Terma's F-16 modular reconnaissance pod to the Turkish company.

"We see strong synergies between our companies," said Terma Senior Vice President Steen M. Lynenskjold. "Terma's aerospace experience within electronic warfare equipment, including 3D-Audio high-end technology, provides promising opportunities for collaboration.

"We look forward to combining Aselsan's and our core capabilities to provide air forces with proven and reliable solutions."

Terma has substantial expertise in developing, designing and manufacturing advanced structures for fighter aircraft. Aselsan has expertise in the design, development and integration of radar and electronic warfare systems.

"Collaboration with Terma brings more benefit to our customers who will use the indigenous radar and EW systems designed and developed by Aselsan for fighters," said Aselsan Vice President and head of Radar and EW Systems Oğuz Şener.

The Terma-Aselsan MOU announcement follows an earlier collaborative agreement between Terma and Airbus EDS.
