Chinese scientists report simple method of producing stem cells

Chinese scientists say they've developed an "easy and safe way" to create stem cells to use in cloning to generate tissues and organs for treatment of diseases. Writing in the journal Science, the researchers described a method of creating a cocktail of small-molecule compounds to reprogram somatic cells to a pluripotent state with the ability to differentiate into any other type of cell in the body.
