Fewer Ebola infections through burials

Far fewer people are being infected with the deadly Ebola virus through unsafe burials thanks to vigorous efforts to make them safer, the World Health Organization said Friday. While nearly 60 percent of all Ebola infections in August happened in connection with handling highly contagious dead bodies and customs and practices linked to burials, that number has now fallen to around 20 percent in some places, said Pierre Formenty, a top WHO Ebola expert.
