Los Angeles CA (SPX) Apr 16, 2024

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. has reported its acquisition of significant assets from ProXopS LLC, a Houston-based engineering services company.

Included in the acquisition are subcontracts with Jacobs (NYSE:J) associated with NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida under the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering and Test (COMET) contract, and at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas under the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract.

The acquisition broadens Aegis Aerospace's operational scope in Florida, where it is already engaged as a prime contractor for NASA, overseeing the independent verification and validation (IV&V) for the lunar logistics project. Additionally, Aegis manages and executes biological experiments on the International Space Station (ISS). Its roles extend at JSC, incorporating commercial space testing, payload development, and astronaut health and performance research.

Stephanie Muniz Murphy, Founder and CEO of Aegis Aerospace, commented, "Our longstanding partnership with Jacobs has yielded substantial outcomes, and we are excited to enhance our support for Jacobs and NASA under these key contracts.

"This move aligns with our strategic goals to develop a comprehensive suite of government and commercial space and defense solutions, which now include operations both in Earth orbit and on the Moon.

We are dedicated to supporting NASA's ambitions for sustainable space exploration and the establishment of a permanent human presence and economic activities on the Moon and Mars."
