Bell-Boeing Joint Project office has been awarded a $58.7 million U.S. Navy contract for a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement in connection to the development and integration of the Marine Corps V-22 Osprey aerial refueling system.

The contract covers non-recurring engineering and logistics services.

Work will be performed in Iowa, Pennsylvania and Texas, with an expected completion date of June 2019.

The Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity.

The Osprey features the speed and range of a turboprop coupled with a helicopter's maneuverability and the ability to carry 24 Marine combat troops in half the time. It can also fly five times farther than previous helicopters.
