Estonia receives first armored vehicles from Netherlands
Tallinn, Estonia (UPI) Oct 11, 2016 - An initial batch of CV9035 infantry fighting vehicles purchased by Estonia from the Netherlands have arrived in the Baltic nation.

The 12 vehicles, together with an armored recovery vehicle, arrived by boat and were being transported to the 1st Infantry Brigade at Estonia's Tapa Army Base.

Estonia signed a contract with the Netherlands for the purchase of 44 used CV9035NL IFVs and six Leopard 1 tank-based support vehicles in late 2014 for 113 million euros.

All the vehicles, which will be delivered by 2018, are to undergo maintenance and repairs before arriving in Estonia, the Estonian Ministry of Defense said.

In addition to the Dutch IFVs, Estonia will also be purchasing a total of 37 IFV CV90 bodies from Norway, which will be rebuilt as armored support vehicles, for about $705,000. The vehicles from Norway are expected to arrive in Estonia sometime this and next year.

General Dynamics Information Technology reports it is to provide a range of mission support services to the U.S. Special Operations Command.

The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity USSOCOM contract has a maximum ceiling value of $900 million over five a five-year period.

"General Dynamics Information Technology will continue providing responsive, highly knowledgeable and professional support to meet the needs of the USSOCOM warfighter," said Bernie Guerry, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Intelligence Solutions division.

General Dynamics says it will provide USSOCOM forces and staffs with technical and management functions across the globe, including engineering and technical services for major weapon systems, program technical assistance, support systems requirements and production decision-making and program controls assistance.

"General Dynamics Information Technology will continue providing responsive, highly knowledgeable and professional support to meet the needs of the USSOCOM warfighter," said Bernie Guerry, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's Intelligence Solutions division.

Work under the contract will be performed by ARMA Global, a subsidiary of General Dynamics Information Technology.
