German tourist dies of swine flu in Austria

by Staff Writers
Vienna (AFP) Jan 5, 2011
A German tourist infected with swine flu died on New Year's Day in the Austrian town of Saalbach near Salzburg, a health official said Wednesday.

The World Health Organisation declared the swine flu pandemic over in August, more than a year after the H1N1 virus that emerged from Mexico sparked panic and killed thousands of people around the world before fizzling out.
