Globalsat Group, a provider of mission-critical satellite and wireless connectivity solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Rivada Space Networks to deploy the OuterNET, a next-generation data network, across Latin America. This collaboration is set to revolutionize connectivity for customers in key sectors such as energy, government, NGOs, agriculture, utilities, and transportation, extending throughout the Americas and beyond.

Established in 1999, Globalsat has carved a niche in mobile and other satellite services, offering specialized voice, data, M2M/IoT, software, and hardware solutions. The company's services are critical in areas where life, infrastructure, or extraordinary circumstances demand reliable connectivity when traditional networks falter.

The partnership emerges at a time when the demand for resilient connectivity is rapidly outpacing the capabilities of existing infrastructure, especially concerning latency, bandwidth, speed, and security. Rivada's answer to this growing need is the OuterNET, a global low-latency, point-to-point connectivity network comprising 600 low earth orbit (LEO) satellites. This network stands out with its novel architecture that combines inter-satellite laser links and advanced onboard processing. The result is an optical mesh network in space, an innovative approach to "orbital networking" where data travels exclusively in space from origin to destination.

This method ensures ultra-secure satellite network with global coverage, offering end-to-end latencies significantly lower than terrestrial fiber over similar long distances. Furthermore, by routing traffic on a physically separated network, OuterNET provides an additional layer of defense for organizations needing to securely share data over a large distribution of sites.

With this partnership, Globalsat Group plans to integrate Rivada's OuterNET into its array of mission-critical solutions. This addition is poised to boost performance and increase efficiency for Globalsat's customers, especially in remote geographic locations where real-time applications and monitoring are essential. The improved bandwidth, reduced latency, and enhanced security are particularly beneficial for these use cases.

Globalsat CEO, Alberto Palacios, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Rivada's OuterNET will deliver ultra-secure and reliable connectivity anywhere in the world and is particularly relevant for business and government operations within our footprint. We are very excited with this partnership, which will allow our current and future customers to access the enormous improvements this unique LEO constellation will provide over legacy infrastructure, as we strive to develop new technologies and services that enhance our customers' experience and improve their ability to operate in remote and challenging environments."

Echoing this enthusiasm, Declan Ganley, CEO of Rivada Space Networks, remarked, "We are delighted to be working with such an innovative company as Globalsat and honored to be chosen as their enterprise-grade LEO operator for Latin America. The OuterNET, a completely new type of LEO constellation, allows satellites to go beyond their traditional role of 'gap-filler' and this fully inter-connected space network, independent of terrestrial infrastructure, is rapidly becoming the network of choice for resilient and secure communications."

Rivada's OuterNET is set to address crucial connectivity challenges and open up new opportunities for business communications globally. The first satellite launch for this ambitious project is scheduled for 2025, with the global service anticipated to commence in 2026.
