Hawaii Pacific Teleport Announce Development of New Datacenter in Hawaii

Kapolei HI (SPX) May 16, 2013

HPT and 1547 offer unique assets and management expertise to Hawaii Pacific Data. As an international provider of satellite and fiber-based communications, HPT provides connectivity between the Americas, Asia, and Australia and its Network Operations Center (NOC) will be used for 24/7/365 support and maintenance.

fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty and Hawaii Pacific Teleport has announced the formation of Hawaii Pacific Data, a joint venture to develop a state-of-the-art datacenter adjacent to the HPT facility in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Designed to be the premier datacenter complex in the Pacific, Hawaii Pacific Data will provide commercial and government clients with secure, high availability, critical infrastructure to support telecom, cloud presence, content delivery, and IT data system hosting, coupled with strategic, broad access to international fiber optic and satellite providers.

Set to launch immediately, the multi-building project will initially redevelop an existing facility to provide over 200 customer cabinets in a secure, redundant environment. Leveraging the proximity to HPT, Hawaii Pacific Data will create a high bandwidth capacity "meet-me" point and establish it as a critical, strategic point of presence for trans-Pacific traffic.

Additional campus development will include a new, highly secure, high power density building adjacent to the existing facility.

Furthermore, Hawaii Pacific Data's strategic location adjoining HPT, an international satellite communications provider, provides additional redundancy for datacenter customers and multiple alternatives for routing traffic.

"Hawaii Pacific Data's geographic location and direct access to Hawaii Pacific Teleport provides a unique datacenter solution for Trans-Pacific network operators, satellite network operators, content providers, cloud providers, financial organizations, enterprise, and social media firms," states Leeana Smith-Ryland, Managing General Partner of HPT.

"The success of many organizations depends on reliable, cost-effective international business communications. Together with 1547, we are developing this high-density datacenter facility as a critical meeting point in the Pacific."

1547's team of industry executives brings extensive experience in developing, renovating and operating datacenter space, and an impressive roster of carrier and enterprise network relationships.

"The Hawaii Pacific Data campus will bridge together international satellite, submarine, and terrestrial fiber optic providers, and will serve as a critical, high-power, high-availability location for customers in the region and across the world," continues J. Todd Raymond, Managing Partner of 1547.

"We are excited to partner with Leeana and the team at HPT on this unique project and look forward to developing the property into the premier datacenter and network interconnection facility in the Pacific."
