JinkoSolar Holding has announced that its first 100 kWp distributed rooftop photovoltaic ("PV") power generation system for Eaton Electric Co., Ltd. ("Eaton"), was successfully connected to the grid in Shenzhen, China.

JinkoSolar provided 400 pieces high-efficiency PV solar panels for the project which was managed by Eaton and installed on the roof of Santak Electronic Co., Ltd.'s factory. The rooftop PV system covers an area of approximately 1500m2 and is expected to produce 100 thousand kWh of power while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 89,624 tons annually.

In addition to supplying the PV modules, JinkoSolar also takes care of the installation of the project. The installation used a low profile linkage control single-axle tracking system to improve generating capacity and reduce installation time, also ensures that it does not damage the existing waterproof structure.

The aluminum alloy structure is ideal for installation in coastal regions where systems are often exposed to extreme humidity and corrosive environmental conditions. The tailor-made monitoring system provides customers with multiple methods to oversee the operation and maintenance of the PV system.

"We are very happy to have developed a strong partnership with Eaton to supply and construct this distributed rooftop PV system," said Mr. Kangping Chen, Chief Executive Officer of JinkoSolar.

"This project will act as a shining example of domestic distributed solar PV solution. JinkoSolar, besides being very active and successful in large scale utility projects, will also continue to promote the development of distributed small and medium sized solar projects in China as part of its commitment to creating sustainable PV solutions."

"We are very pleased to partner with one of the PV industry's leaders on this landmark project," said Mr. Wu, Project Manager of Eaton Electric.

"Eaton EESS is very pleased to see the connection and commission of the PQ (the Santak) rooftop solar project. To make effective use of solar, wind, hydro and other green energy of nature, is the obligation of the electrical industry practitioners. Eaton EESS is grateful for the efforts of JinkoSolar engineers. We look forward to further building on our relationship with JinkoSolar to implement more high class distributed solar projects in China."

London, UK (SPX) Mar 11, 2013
A new survey conducted by IMS Research - now part of IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) - of more than 400 global photovoltaic (PV) inverter customers has revealed a rapidly growing need for energy storage in PV systems. Despite the infancy of the energy storage market, nearly one third of respondents indicated that they expect to be using energy storage in over 40 percent of the PV systems they install by 20 ... read more
