Elbit Systems has announced the launching of Light SPEAR, a new and unique self-protection and jamming system for UAS.

Improving the UAS' survivability and meeting the growing world demand to operate and collect accurate intelligence in highly hostile environments, Light SPEAR is composed of air defence systems and is based on Elbit Systems EW and SIGINT - Elisra's operational experience in the development of unified digital EW suites, installed onboard platforms such as fighter jets, helicopters and utility aircraft, already in operational use by the Israeli Air Force and other customers worldwide.

An Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) system for UAS, Light SPEAR is a compact EW system based on multiple DRFM (Digital Radio Frequency Memory (jamming channels, working in parallel and covering a wide spectrum.

The system enables easy integration with an array of transmitters and platforms, and its low Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) consumption makes it well suited for UAS platforms operating in hostile environments.
