Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training has been awarded a $148 million U.S. Navy contract for production on the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program, or SEWIP.

The firm-fixed-price deal covers full rate production of several SEWIP Block 2 systems and subsystems.

SEWIP is an evolutionary acquisition and incremental development program to upgrade the existing AN/SLQ-32(V) electronic warfare system.

The program provides enhanced shipboard electronic warfare for early detection analysis, threat warning and protection from anti-ship missiles.

Portions of the work will expand upon the receiver/antenna group necessary to keep capabilities current with the pace of the threat and to yield improved system integration.

Work will be performed in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Minnesota, Alabama and the United Kingdom. The estimated completion date is November 2019.

Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting entity.
