Mobix Labs Inc. (Nasdaq: MOBX), recognized for cutting-edge Wireless technology and semiconductor expertise, reports that its newly integrated RaGE Systems Inc. (CAGE:863W3) has been selected for a Phase 1 Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) award.

This grant, provided by the U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), supports initial work with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UML) to develop a System on Chip (SoC) aimed at satellite communication applications. The STTR program offers resources and encouragement for smaller enterprises undertaking government-backed R and D.

It is intended to foster new technologies that help the Department of Defense stay ahead and maintain readiness. Through this initiative, the private sector is also incentivized to commercialize federal research, encouraging synergy between creative companies and academic institutions.

Meanwhile, DMEA's role is to supply microelectronics innovations to meet the Defense Department's priorities. In Phase 1, Mobix Labs Wireless Systems Group will partner with UML to explore the feasibility, technical advantages, and market prospects of a low-power, cost-effective and high-performance Monolithic Software Defined SoC for SATCOM purposes. The project team will produce a comprehensive report on design options that align with DMEA requirements.

"This is a great opportunity for Mobix Labs to bring together the Wireless Systems capabilities it acquired with RaGE Systems, and the leading-edge IC architectures and technologies from the Mobix Labs team," said Fabrizio Battaglia, CEO of Mobix Labs.

Russell Cyr, GM and VP of the Wireless Systems Group, commented, "The bringing together of the research and ideas from UML Center for Space Science and Technology, RaGE Systems' IC and systems technology and Mobix Labs IC developments will allow us to put together a great solution to present to DMEA."
