Officials from the United States and the Netherlands have signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LoA) to procure Lockheed Martin's (NYSE: LMT) Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Extended Range (JASSM-ER). This deal makes the Netherlands the fifth international customer for the JASSM-ER.

"We're honored to partner with the U.S. Government to provide the Netherlands Armed Forces with the combat proven and mission effective weapon system to meet their ever-evolving strategic defense needs," said Scott Redmerski, JASSM program director at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.

The newest version of JASSM-ER features upgraded hardware and software, enhancing its capabilities and offering more flexible options to accommodate changing mission requirements.

JASSM has maintained over two decades of successful collaboration with the U.S. Air Force, delivering crucial long-range, precision engagement capabilities for air-to-ground operations. The weapon system, known for its combat effectiveness, is designed to neutralize high-value, heavily defended targets from a significant distance, ensuring that aircrews remain safe from hostile air defense systems while maintaining effectiveness and range.
