Raytheon UK reports it has received an order for Paveway IV precision guided bombs from an unidentified international customer.

The order, worth more than $200 million, is the first sale of Paveway IV bombs outside of Britain, it said.

"This contract is an export boost to the U.K," said Richard Daniel, chief executive of the company. "It will help support hundreds of manufacturing and engineering jobs at Raytheon's facilities and in the supply chain across the U.K."

Paveway is a dual-mode, GPS/INS and laser guided weapon. It consists of a guidance kit attached to a free fall, or so-called dumb bomb. It became operational with the Royal Air Force in 2008 and has been used in military operations in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan.

Raytheon UK said it will deliver hundreds of the advanced munitions under the order but no delivery schedule was provided.

Raytheon UK is a prime contractor and major supplier to Britain's Ministry of Defense. It is a subsidiary of Raytheon in the United States, which manufactures Paveway II guided bombs.
