Russia has launched the construction of new radiolocation stations in Krasnoyarsk and Altay districts in Siberia, the deputy defense minister Oleg Ostapenko said.

He added that new stations would be built along all Russian borders, including the towns of Yeniseisk and Barnaul.

Russia earlier failed to agree with Azerbaijan on extending the lease of the Gabala radiolocation stations.

Mr. Ostapenko, however, said that another station located in southern town of Armavir has already taken control of the territory previously monitored through the Gabala radar.
