Sasken Technologies Limited (Sasken), a prominent player in system design and integration, has recently announced a significant milestone in satellite communication technology. The company unveiled the world's first LTE-technology-based satellite product, named the Mobile Satellite Equipment (MSE). This novel product is set to revolutionize the field of critical communications, particularly in scenarios like natural disasters.

The MSE stands as a testament to Sasken's pioneering role in the SatCom industry. The company's expertise in designing, developing, and deploying both the hardware and software of this innovative solution underscores its commitment to technological advancement in satellite communications. This latest introduction of LTE over mobile satellite equipment marks a transformative step, converting the legacy satellite network infrastructure into a standard, interoperable telecom network.

Mr. Rajiv C. Mody, Chairman and Managing Director of Sasken Technologies, expressed his pride in leading the team behind this remarkable innovation. "I am proud to lead a team that has architected the product from concept and design to commercialization of this complex satellite system for high-speed critical communication. The team realized the design to make this product sustainable for long-term use in the field which will impact the lives of millions by enabling public-safety satellite communication. Our commitment to engineering excellence, customer satisfaction, and pushing the limits of what is possible drives our success," said Mr. Mody.

The MSE system's distinct feature is the integration of a Tracking Antenna unit, a significant enhancement that offers a modernized, resource-efficient, and extensible platform. This ensures long-term support for telecommunication services and presents satellite telecom operators with new opportunities for market growth due to its cost-effectiveness and increased user capacity.

Mr. Abhijit Kabra, CEO of Sasken Technologies, highlighted the impact of this pioneering technology. "This pioneering technology ensures uninterrupted and reliable connectivity even in remote or challenging terrain, and more importantly when other modes of communication fail during natural disasters and calamities. Yet again, Sasken, has lived up to its commitment of helping customers launch complex and technically advanced products, which makes the world a better and safer place to live," he remarked.

Mr. Rizwanul Islam, AVP Delivery at Sasken, emphasized the company's dedication to delivering pioneering and cost-efficient solutions and services. "Our focus is on expediting time to market while maintaining a commitment to delivering exceptional products utilized globally," he stated. His commitment to collaborating with customers to navigate the intricacies of the digital age and maintain a competitive edge reflects the company's forward-thinking approach.

A notable aspect of this achievement is Sasken's success in overcoming the technical challenges presented by the development of an LTE over GEO satellites product. According to Mr. Mikko Keskilammi, AVP Hardware Design at Sasken, the creation process involved incorporating linked satellite channels, antenna systems, mobility, and robustness, all while ensuring cost-effectiveness. "As a team, we successfully tackled this challenge, resulting in the design of a high-quality product that guarantees reliable operation for mission-critical communications," shared Mr. Keskilammi.
