Using LabSat in the absence of GPS

The video explains how testing real world situations for development of vehicle satellite navigation systems can be a lengthy and difficult process.

Most modern in-car systems not only use GPS but also dead-reckoning signals from the vehicle itself, so bench testing such equipment can be problematical.

As a result, Racelogic have developed a full navigation system testing system which includes dead-reckoning signals recorded from the vehicle, with a turntable to simulate the vehicle movements.

The video shows the system in action, with a satnav unit being manoeuvred on the turntable whilst it receives a combination of previously record GPS and vehicle signals.

The video can be viewed by going to the LabSat channel here.
