Verengo Solar has announced it has been named to the Inaugural Inc. magazine Hire Power Awards list of honorees. The list recognizes private companies which have created the most America-based jobs over the past three years. Verengo Solar ranked #69 on the list, and #2 among energy companies.

"Randy and I are grateful to be able to provide Americans with good jobs, especially when our country has struggled with employment growth since the recession began," said Ken Button, President and Co-Founder of Verengo Solar.

"Our dynamic growth has been directly attributable to the enthusiasm of those employees, and as our company continues to expand into new solar markets like New Jersey and New York, so do opportunities for the Verengo Solar team."

"It is a privilege to be named to the first ever Inc. magazine Hire Power list and we look forward to being on this list for many years to come," said Verengo Solar CEO and Co- Founder Randy Bishop.

"According to the National Solar Job Census released last week the solar workforce grew at 13.2% in 2011 and is expected to grow 17.5% in 2012, as residential installation prices continue to decline and fossil fuel based utility rates continue to rise."

Verengo Solar was also recently recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., its three-year growth of 559% ranking #649 out of the 5000 U.S. companies measured.

Eric Schurenberg, Editor-in-Chief of Inc., said, "For more than 30 years, Inc. has paid tribute to the fast-growing private companies that are, and always have been, the heart of the U.S. economy. We honor the struggle, the creativity, and the courage of business owners every month in Inc. Magazine.

"But until now, one contribution has never been singled out. That contribution, of course, is job creation - which simply would not exist in this economy if not for the kinds of companies that the Hire Power Awards recognize."

While some of the Hire Power companies may seem small - their combined value is enormous, said Inc. President Robert LaPointe.

Together, the companies on the list created more than 73,000 jobs in the past three years. And, according to LaPointe, those jobs add up to about $5 billion in tax revenue.
