Skyhook Wireless and mov Software, creators of the imov Messenger application, have announced integration of Skyhook for location-aware instant messaging.

imov Messenger is an easy to use IM aggregator application for Windows Mobile. The application brings together GoogleTalk, AOL, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo and Jabber/XMPP instant messaging applications.

With the addition of location from Skyhook Wireless, imov users will now be able to share their current location within their instant messages.

"The ability to quickly and easily share location is a differentiator for iMov Messenger," said Stephen Pendleton, owner of mov Software.

"Other Windows Mobile social networking applications require users to manually enter location or rely on GPS which may not exist on the client device. Using Skyhook gives us excellent location performance and sets our app apart."

"Developers across all mobile platforms are turning to Skyhook to offer iPhone-quality location within their apps," said Kate Imbach, director of marketing at Skyhook Wireless.

"Skyhook has become a requirement for developers who want to offer users a high-quality experience with their location-aware apps."
